Jälkiä ja kaikuja – Traces and echoes
The theme of the Jälkiä ja kaikuja (Traces and echoes) exhibition is the mouth which is viewed as a space and a landscape as well as a relational vocal being.
In their work, artist-choreographer Lin Da contemplates the spaces and inner landscapes of the body. The exhibition uses various techniques and materials to engage with the subjects of time, repetition, and echoes.
Where does the mouth lead its audience?
Jälkiä ja kaikuja (Traces and echoes) is an invitation to be with the mouth. The exhibition does not focus on the exact imitation of a body part but on being with the expressiveness and vocality of the corporeal.
The action of taking the mouth out of its typical context is a playful, violent, and imaginative gesture. By doing so, Lin Da positions the mouth as an object of perception while asking about the potential of its expression.
